Sewer Pipe Locator Service in Oregon & Washington

Rush Locates offers sewer pipe locating as part of our Private Utility Locating service. We also offer sewer scope services if you need a video recording of the sewer line or a determination of the pipe condition.

For most residential and commercial properties this normal locating can mark the path of your sewer line as long as you have access to a cleanout or other access point. In some cases the sewer can go more than 15′ down and the signal can become lost. We also offer a deep sewer line locating service to find sewers up to 50′ deep. We can locate up to 300′ from any cleanout or sewer access point in a straight pipe at least 8″ in diameter.

We also offer a crawling robot to inspect sewers and pipes that can go over 300′ in pipes over 8″ even uphill and it can make turns and record video looking around.

Stand alone sewer locating costs $150 per hour. Rush Locates can locate and mark a sewer line simultaneously as we perform other private utility locates. However due to the nature of sewer line locating it can take longer than locating other line.

Call 811 if doing any digging

Almost everyone doing any digging is required by law in Oregon (ORS 757.542 – 562 and 757.993 and in Oregon Administrative Rules, Chapter 952) and Washington (RCW 19.122) to dial 811 or get a public utility locate. Learn more about 811 and the requirements for digging with their FAQ. 

811 is a free service that will mark all public utilities on public property and will often mark public utilities onto private property as far as the meter or meter base. However for sewer systems however the marking isn’t done unless the sewer main is present. But have no fear! Rush Locates can use a sewer scope reel with a locating sonde to locate where the sewer line runs on your job site.
