Conduit Rodding and Locating is a type of Private Utility Locating where a conductive or locatable rodder is added to a pipe to locate it. This is normally done with a push rodder. This means the fiberglass rod mush be pushed by hand into a pipe, and as such the pipe to be locate must be in an accessible area.
For smooth and swept conduits we can locate pipes less than an inch. Pipes over 1 and 1/4 inch can be TV’d or scoped with a camera.
Large pipes over 6″ may need a visit from the ‘
Extra Large Reel
‘ which is a push rodder that can go though extra wide pipes and can be located up to 50’ deep.
When you need to inspect a large (over 8″ diameter) sewer pipe we can use the sewer crawler robot.
